Goal of Fredz Awards

The Fredz Awards is a ceremony of trophies including all the songs that Fredz liked during the last year (this 3rd edition includes songs from July 1, 2006 to May 13, 2007). The public will then have the right to vote in order to choose the winners in the different categories (like rock, alternative, dance, new artist, international and many others). The song that accumulates the most votes will be the big winner of the Fredz Awards.

All the songs that are nominated are based on the tastes of Fredz; commercial radio has no impact on the nominations. Fredz's musical interests differ from commercial radio that plays too much rap. We have many changes from commercial radio right now since I have access to Canadian and American rock radio with more interests than the world of rap songs.

If you don't know a song that's nominated in a category, you can skip to the next category. But if you'd like to look further into your musical potential, you can quickly find the songs on Myspace and Youtube, which are free and can make you know an artist that you may buy an album from in the following days.

The voting should start in the neighbourhood of May 23th. The last day to vote will be June 18th. The winners will be known in the days folloswng this date with an official presentation of the trophies.

All the categories that will be in the Fredz awards have been put in the section of Nominations that are now open. 4 categories were revealed tonight: Roy's favourite songs, French rock songs, English punk songs and alternative songs of the year. More categories will be revealed in the coming days.
